Canadian adapting to a spoiled German life: February 2006 Dear Heather, Here are Minnie Mouse, Lady Blanche and Cirque du Soleil, the three emigrants. We wanted to let you know that we are doing very well in germany!! We are very happy in our new home. Here are a lot of other cavies and so we have a lot fun! After we arrived on Frankfurt airport we had to go last part of our journey in car. We were a bit angry as we arrived in our new home but people were very kind and gave us lots of fresh vegetables. We both babysows live together in one cavie-room with one of the german baby-cavies (look at the photo). Cirque live together with a german boar in another room. The german cavies are very friendly, they explained us everything what`s happening. Now we know the noise of door of the cupboard so well - this noise means that we are getting fresh vegetables! We are whistling as loud as possible if we are hearing this noise! Sometimes we still have some problems to understand the german cavies - but our german is much better than before two weeks. First day we don`t understand anything because the german language is very very strange. Now we speak german and the german cavies speak a little bit english and so there are no language-problems. But the accent of german cavies....it`s very very terrible!!! Please let all of our friends know that we are doing very well! We send some picures of us for your testimonials-letters page. Hope you enjoy them! The german breeder, Beate, is very very proud to be owner of us!!!! We told Beate to send a short message to you because our feet are not really well shaped to press the types of the computer... Kindest regards, Your three emigrant-cavies andBeate Meves (vom Wehebachtal)
Kiowa and her Dutch descendants: January 2006 Hi Heather, We want you to know that Red Rock Kiowa has become a great-grandma. She was born in 2001 and in the year 2003 she came to the Netherlands and delivered 2 wonderful babies named Red Rock Amethist and Red Rock Topas. We bred RR Amethist to RR To Holland with Love and there was our (silkie) Little Doll. She won many prizes at shows and was in 2004 BOB and RIS at the Nationals. Her first litter came too early and now she has her 2nd litter and there she is..... our Little Toybox she will be in our showteam 2006!!! Dearest Heather our hearts are full of Joy and Happiness that we may have your Red Rock cavies to enjoy, breed and show and again we want to say Thank You for these most beautiful Cavies!!!! Best Wishes Mady and Jan from the Netherlands
Viktor and Valdimar (Silkie Brothers): September 2005 Hello Heather, I just wanted to let you know the boys are doing very well. They are so big already and are great with our other pets. Our shelties think they are puppies, they snuggle with them and want to clean them. Our cats pretty much do the same thing, they like to groom them as well. We went out and bought the boys a huge cage for them to sleep in and to protect them when we aren't home. Our cats are pure persians and persians are very slow laid back cats. I have been trying different fruits and vegetables with them and found they really like Kiwi. It has alot of vitamin C and they really love it. My family just loves the 2 boys very much and we are very glad that you have allowed us to have them both. Viktor had a knot underneath even though I am a professional groomer it took my a few days on how to figure how to get it out. I comb the boys daily but I wasn't doing a good enough job underneath so now I roll them on their back and use a baby brush under there til they get use to it enough for the comb. Here is a picture of Viktor, it was taken a month ago.Valdimar is a busy guinea pig that has other things to do than get his picture taken. Thank you so much for such wonderful additions to our family, Tammy (Ontario - Canada)
Bavarian Cavies: Arctic Knight, Wunderschön, and Kassel: October 2004 Many greetings from Arctic Night, Kassel and Wunderschön!! They are absolutely wonderful, with rich coat and I enjoy them very much!! The three cavies had the longest way to their new home. But they arrived as well as the others. It was as exciting as "Christmas" and I visited my girlfriends as soon as possible. One day later, I went home with my cavies. Before we started to do the last part of the journey, they got a new transport box with fresh bed, food and water. Then they had some time to sleep. So they made the last part of the journey very well and arrived in good condition! At their new home they are living indoors and it looks like, that they are feeling very well. Yesterday I took some photos. The cavies made it, like a professional model, really perfect and very relaxed. I like them so much, they are great!! Thanks a lot and best regards from Bavaria, Petra Linner (von der Achenleite)
A Great Summer's Day in Michigan, USA July 2004 You'll never guess what happened today at the Michigan Cavy Congress in Davisburg ... Fanfare is a class act -- the show didn't go in alphabetical order and coronets actually were judged last. Unfortunately, we didn't know this and got her out of her wraps and brushed her hair out, only to put her back in her wraps when the anticipated call for coronets was not answered. We did this twice more before we finally got to the judges table -- but it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. There were three coronets -- two seniors and Fanfare. She won Best of Breed !!! We couldn't believe it as the hair on the seniors was gorgeous, but didn't appear to be very dense according to the judges comments. What a total surprise !! Thank you for taking such good care of her. The credit is all yours. We have everybody settled in their new home -- hope they get acclimated quickly. Thank you for allowing us to purchase these wonderful animals -- we hope to make you and the Red Rock Caviary proud. Renee Martin, Michigan, USA.

Marie Bonde of Columbine Marsvin - Denmark.
Best in Show under Arizona Skies January 17, 2004 Hi Heather, It was a great day in the southwest today. We had an outdoor show in beautiful Arizona weather--blue skies and gorgeous temperaures--and Red Rock Via Houston was Best in Show under judge Randy Shumaker. Incredible Silkie competition (just to win the breed was amazing)--and he won the whole deal! Red Rock Androcles was Best of Breed under Randy Shumaker and Tracy Iverson, garnering excellent comments from both judges. Windswept Alize Nashua, Coronet (Red Rock Canso x G&CC Natalie) was best Junior of Breed under both judges. Windswept Alize Comet, Silkie (Spitzer Masterpiece x Gemini Luna) was best intermediate under both judges. Windswept Graffiti, Peruvian Blue Roan, was Best Junior under Tracy. Graffiti was bred by Zena Ripley. Phyllis Ripley, Windswept Caviary - Arizona - USA in partnership with Frankie Jones, Alize Caviary - Arizona, USA
Sno-Cap & Masquerade take Awards back to New Jersey! January 09, 2004 Jenna has been doing extremely well on the show table with the 2 *babies* we had from your Sno-Cap (Red Rock Sno-Cap X Red Rock Chesapeake) in June, Masquerade (B/W Coronet) and Mischief Maker (B/W Silkie) . Both are 6 months old now. Masquerade has taken quite a few Best of Opposite Sex awards, and Val Horning just gave her Breed from the Intermediate class over several seniors (with 10 Coronets in Breed) at the Wine Country (New York) show in November 2003, earning her a leg. Mischief has done very well also over some good Silkie competition - taking Breed several times as an Intermediate, and also took Breed under Val Horning with 6 in Breed - earning him a leg also.
