Type and coat characteristics (e.g., density/texture), are the main focus here at Red Rock. Although we do take pride in presenting broken blacks and broken agoutis with deep, rich colour - we always keep in mind that colour is "5 points" in the coronet/silkie standards - therefore, we will not dismiss an animal if the colour (i.e., distribution of patching) does not have perfect distribution.
Red Rock is a small, yet efficient caviary with a strong breeding program that has produced Champions in Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Germany. Within the last year, the Red Rock expatriates have reached the destinations of Belgium, Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovakia, Russia and Norway. Red Rock also understands the need for pet guinea pigs (cavies). Although, primarily raised for show, we always have guinea pigs available for loving pet homes. It is a pleasure to send the "kids" to new families where they can be spoiled with extra TLC that a pet home can provide. |
Red Rock is home to on average 35 animals. Each animal that we hold back for our breeding program must meet certain characteristics that will either maintain our current standard or better yet, improve the desired characteristics in future generations.
